Howie Dorough the young man with the big voice, is a member of the hot group the Backstreet Boys. Howie's first love was music and he was cast in many community theater productions of top musicals, among them "Camelot", "The Sound of Music" and "Showboat". His acting led to a Disney World commercial and roles in "Welcome Freshmen" a pilot for a Nickelodeon series, and in the films "Parenthood" and "Cop and a Half".

Jillian Barberie provides the latest weather forecasts for Fox 11 Morning News and the Emmy award-winning Good Day LA, seen weekdays on KTTV FOX 11. She also files reports for Fox Style, the weekly segment that spotlights the hottest and hippest trends in fashion. Barberie's talent beyond the Good Day LA has earned her special appearances on various television shows. She has a recurring role as "Foxy Levin" in V.I.P. with Pamela Anderson, as a game show host in Clueless, as a news reporter in Beverly Hills 90210, and as herself in series finale of Melrose Place. In June 2000, Barberie was a guest host on Live with Regis and Kathy Lee. In September 2000, she joined NFL on Fox with Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and James Brown.

Formerly the structure which housed the legendary “Spruce Goose,” the Dome offers artist an incredible performing experience.

In the 4,500 seat venue, every fan has a great seat and the top level sponsors have a breath-taking view of the each performer and the concert stage.

The concert begins at 2:30 pm with an hour of opening performances. At 3:30 pm the main concert begin which is styled in an award-show, variety-featured format. Actors, athletes, comedians and other recording artist will introduce the performers.

Special recognition will be made to the 911 for Kids youth Heroes and heroes from the September 11, 2001 tragedy in New York.

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – August 18, 2004 – Howie Dorough of the Back Street Boys, Boyz II Men and country hottest talent, Kellie Coffey, Blue County, and Shiloh are just a few teaming up with Athletes and Entertainers for Kids (AEFK) at the upcoming event “For the Love of Children 3: A Tribute to Heroes” at the Queen Mary September 11 to benefit the 9-1-1 for Kids and the Dorough Lupus Foundation.

The international event honors the remarkable heroes from the September 11, 2001 tragedy and the 2004 9-1-1 national youth heroes. For the first time, an explosive star-studded concert with performances from the Backstreet Boys, Blue County, Kellie Coffey, Shiloh, and more will highlight the event festivities.

Red carpet arrivals will begin at Noon and the concert held in the state-of-the-art Queen Mary Concert Dome (5,000 seat venue), will begin at 2:00pm. The headline concert will begin at 3:00pm and is styled in an award show format with actors, athletes and other recording artists introducing the performers. In between musical performances, the For the Love of Children III comedians will perform.

Prior to the concert, a press conference featuring Dorough and Jillian Barberie , will take place. Participating entertainers and athletes will also join in this special ceremony which will recognize the 2004 911 National Youth Heroes. In addition, an emotional tribute will be paid to the heroes from the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy in New York City.

Since 1986 Athletes and Entertainers for Kids have worked with more than 500 recording artists, actors, comedians and athletes. AEFK recognizes the need to provide young people with proper role models. In 1996, the State of California selected AEFK and one other children’s non-profit organization to serve as mentor role model charities for the State as part of a California Mentoring Initiative. AEFK’s programs provide neglected students the opportunity to gain new hope and belief that they have options and they can achieve.
